Right now I'm locked out of my dorm. I think I know how to get back in- i called a roommate and he was off-campus but he told me how to use a card to get back in. I don't have a card but I have a reasonable substitute. I just don't want to leave the library because I'll need my id to get back in...

And I have a bunch of papers to write, so maybe I'll just get a couple done here at the library before I go back.
The move...

So I'm at Spring Arbor University now. I moved in on Labor Day. My roommate's name is Justin, and he is also a transfer student. We joined a "Transfer cellgroup" and got to know some people that night. I'm really glad for all the cheesy games and silly get-to-know-ya things. It stretched me a little bit, but I got to know quite a few people. One of the guys in my group is from Malaysia, which has many similarities with Indonesia, where I lived for 5 months. So we had a lot of conversations about South East Asia.

My classes/teachers are really good. I even have last year's Teacher of the Year for two classes. He's a young prof named Brent Cline who is very friendly, very intelligent and I would prolly say kinda (unless you're tardy- then there is no mercy). I really love his class and I will try extra hard to be there on time.

Life is good, God is good.

Life as usual

This is the first summer which feels sorta "usual." I have been home for a month and I'm working on the farm for my dad. Soon I'll be going back to the college which I miss so much and counseling camp there. And then- Conference!! My brother lives there, so i'll be staying with him. I'm pretty excited about that. Haven't seen Jeff & Rhonda in a while. Does anyone that I know read this? I guess I don't post ever, but I hope someone has it in their little feed thingy.
Friday, June 12, 2009

I got up at 8am today. I went out to the field at 8:30 and didn't come back home until 5:30. I am a little burned and really pooped after walking up and down and up and down the field, picking up stones that we don't want to break our tractors.

I think I may go to Spring Arbor University in the fall. If not, probably back to CMU.

I miss speaking in foreign languages...

Life

I hurt my leg playing soccer- not too bad, but I'm limping a bit.
I'm graduating in 16 days.
I'm turning 22 in 15 days.
I have exams in 15 days.
I have 11 pages worth of papers to write in 15 days.
I have only 15 more days to spend with friends whom I have rgown close to this year.

Soon I will be home, and then I will be in Virginia, and after that Columbus, OH, and after that- Israel? Sorry to those of you I have not written too, I´m sorry. But as those have written me can tell you, I do respond to every letter I get, and usually within a day´s time. I´m staying with an Argentinian family under a bridge in a suburb of Málaga called La Cala del Moral. It is a beautiful town, and we (Morgan from RBC and my family) live right on the edge of the city where there are horses dogs, mules, and even a flock of goats. The house is in a dried up river basin, and there are small mountains ringing it in. I have some great pictures of it on facebook. My family moved here from South American because the boys are both hemophiliacs and they needed medicine, They´re really great, they are Boris (12) and Branco (10). They are very patient with me and my poor Spanish, as are their parents.
The food here is amazing, fresh meat from the market, and of course fresh seafood from the Mediterranean, and fresh olives from the trees of Spain.
Anyways, if you want to see pictures, here are my albums on facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2184779&l=b51ac&id=21716008

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2185835&l=8d4d3&id=21716008

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2186955&l=7b3f7&id=21716008

Thursday, December 13, 2007

Another camel has come out. the link in the post below this one will take you to it.

An interesting semester at Rosedale... not what I was expecting and, frnakly, somewhat disappointing. I have continued to learn many things... about grace, about submission/humility (especially my lack thereof), and especailly about friendships. I found myslef desperately wishing for a close circle of friends, and I kept spreading myself thin, trying to keep in close contact with so many people that i simply couldn't maintiain more than surface depth relationships. Then I realized that any of the groups could be close, if I just dedicated more time to one than another. I decided to spend more time with my roommate and a group of friends that we shared (well we shared some of them). I feel like I kind of pushed my way in, but I'm glad I did. I sitll get really sad when i see other people pass by on campus, wishing that I knew them better, that I knew how to be one of those charismatic, charmign people who everyone talk to. I'm struggling with jealousy with those people. It's been disturbing to see my own shallowness this year... my pettiness. I'm trying not to beat myslef up over it, realize God's grace and embrace it.

Ahhh, and now to another problem, one that has been discussed a lot recently. Rosedale is lacking in prayer. I don't know how the parent's are praying at home, or how our other supporters are praying, but I DO know that at Rosedale we have dropped dramatically in output. No more breakfast meetings, no lunch meeting for fasting or praying, and no litrugical services. Several leaders in the studnet body have mentioned that they are desiring to set forth those goals again winter term. I won't be here to see it happen (I'm going to Spain with RBC) but I hope to keep them accountable.

New rant: I'm terrible at keeping contact with people. It seems like, because I don't have a cellphone, my friends drop off the earth the moment I move. I don't want to let go of some of the people I've known. So, if you're reading this, keep in contact. I'm going to e-mail people (or facebook them) for the next 10 weeks, and attempt to keep up on campus life, and let my friends keep updated about my own.

Pray people! God is listening, pour out your hearts.

Friday, November 16, 2007

Another Camel has finally come out!!
